Erik Silverman

Physical Therapist

PT, DPT

Growing up in Southern California, movement and the outdoors were always a central part of my life. From my earliest memories of boating on the lake and winter weekends snowboarding at Big Bear and Mammoth, I’ve always had a calling to the mountain. While I dabbled in many sports as a kid, travel baseball, premier-level club soccer, and martial arts consumed my life. It wasnt until later in life that I would shift my focus to snowboarding and golfing. Through years of training, competition, and teamwork, I developed not only physical discipline but also a strong understanding of the mental and emotional drive required to pursue a goal, which I now bring to my work as a physical therapist. These experiences shaped the way I view movement, recovery, and resilience, and continue to inspire the way I care for my patients today.

My academic journey began at California State University, Northridge, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. During this time, I became fascinated by the mechanics of the human body and how it moves, adapts, and heals.  This led me to pursue my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at California State University, Long Beach, where I was challenged to think critically, practice compassionately, and develop a patient-centered approach to care.

My philosophy as a physical therapist is grounded in active listening and individualized care. Every patient brings their own story, goals, and challenges into the clinic, and I believe it’s essential to meet people where they are. I take the time to understand not just what hurts, but what matters most to each person I work with. From there, I create customized treatment plans that are evidence-based, goal-driven, and built around the patient’s lifestyle. My goal isn’t just to get people moving again, it’s to help them regain confidence, restore function, and return them to all the TAHOEtivities that bring them happiness and purpose.

Today, I’m proud to be practicing and living in Northern California, where I have the privilege of working with individuals of all backgrounds and activity levels. My Southern California roots and sports loyalties remain strong. I’ll always be cheering loud for the Dodgers, Kings, and Lakers!
